Consideration will be given to qualified internal full-time academic and partial-load employees first in accordance with the Collective Agreement requirements. 

Sheridan faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centred environment where students can develop to their full potential. They also contribute to College, Faculty, and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategies. Within this context of inspiring innovation and excellence, the Pilon School of Business is currently seeking a full-time Professor, Career Readiness.

If you are passionate about teaching and learning and interested in designing and co-creating experiences that guide students in the development of their critical employability skills and have expertise and experience with curriculum development and the stewarding of interdisciplinary competency development such as critical thinking & problem solving, communication, collaboration & leadership, and accessing and analyzing information, then you must consider this role.


What You’ll be Doing

[*]Ensuring program and course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of emerging and best practices
[*]Defining, evaluating, and validating applied career-readiness learning outcomes across a diverse array of courses and programs
[*]Teaching and developing curriculum for courses that place a major focus on cultivating career readiness and the development of employability skills
[*]Bringing a combined workplace learning, professional development, and career readiness lens to the development of new approaches to meeting curricular outcomes in innovative and interdisciplinary ways
[*]Facilitating the growth and development of a high-impact transformative and interdisciplinary approach to professional development and employability skills-based learning across the business curriculum
[*]Developing and maintaining relationships and opportunities to collaborate with faculty peers, Sheridan’s Work-Integrated Learning team, Student Affairs, business community members and Sheridan’s EDGE Entrepreneurship Hub, among others 
[*]Designing, developing, and teaching program and course curricula that are inclusive, current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines
[*]Defining, evaluating, and validating applied learning outcomes for assigned courses and programs
[*]Co-creating effective environments for learning which accommodate students’ diverse cultural and educational experiences and individual learning styles
[*]Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of UDL and other emerging and best practices in teaching and learning
[*]Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning process
[*]Contributing to the advancement of scholarly research and knowledge about the alignment of employer’s requirements and business education

You have a demonstrated ability to facilitate learning by conveying the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized and planning and can integrate multiple streams of information, prioritize and track multiple projects to meet a demanding workload and keep things running smoothly.

You have the capacity to contribute to scholarly research and creative activities within PSB.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications: 

[*]Master of Business Administration degree
[*]5 years relevant practical and professional experience
[*]Demonstrated proficiency in the design, development, and delivery of curriculum that promotes essential business employability skills and reflective practice 
[*]Teaching and curriculum development experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated application of adult educational principles and teaching/assessment methodologies
[*]Demonstrated skill in facilitating the development of interdisciplinary competencies (such as critical thinking & problem solving, communication, collaboration & leadership, intercultural understanding & inclusion and accessing and analyzing information), within a broad array of interdisciplinary and integrated learning experiences

Other Details

Faculty: Pilon School of Business
Campus Location: HMC (May be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) during normal operations.  Currently the position is a hybrid of in person and remote delivery.

Hours: Professors may teach between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00pm 
Salary Range: $67,893 - $117,697 (based on relevant educational qualifications and experience)
Start Date: January 3, 2023
