Mohawk College is currently recruiting for our next

Professor, HR Management

The Department of Business Management in the McKeil School of Business requires a full time Professor to teach theoretical and practical business applications in our Human Resources programs.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Professors in this department are responsible for providing academic leadership for developing an effective learning environment.

​RESPONSIBILITIES:


The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

​Deliver HR theory and practical application at both the College Diploma and Degree level.
​Create a positive learning environment in the classroom and other learning spaces.
​Use a variety of teaching and learning strategies including classroom lectures and workshops, online learning, video recordings, simulations and experiential learning.
​Use a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.
​Demonstration of student-centered course design and delivery, including aspects of Universal Design for Learning and intercultural competence.
​Assess student feedback and industry trends to develop, deliver and revise curriculum.
​Engage in applied research.


QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant must have:

​A PhD in Human Resource Management with a focus on any one of the functional areas e.g. Organizational Behaviour, Performance Management, Training and Development, etc.
​Current membership in the HRPA including designation e.g. CHRP, CHRL or CHRE.
​Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive HRM experience.
​Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset.
​Competence with an on-line learning environment including experience hosting virtual class-rooms e.g. Zoom or Teams.
​Experience with on-line Learning Management Systems.
​Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner.
​Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
​Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
