What responsibilities will you have in this role?
The successful candidate will:
    Teach courses in all years of the Baking & Pastry certificate, diploma, post-graduate Advanced French Patisserie programs as well as baking and pastry courses in other programs within the Chef School.
      Be responsible for development and delivery of industry focused workplace integrated learning, online learning (synchronous and asynchronous), and special integrated learning modules for learning in the workplace.
        Lead and participate in the development/selection of appropriate learning materials, revision of curriculum, program objectives, developing and evaluating learning outcomes and learning environments.
          Research and teach subjects in their area of expertise, and will tutor, counsel, advise, and evaluate student and program achievements.
            Participate and contribute to the coordination of programs, student recruitment, program advisory and other committees, externship learning applications and monitoring, and special events for the Chef School including student recruitment events.
              Maintain currency in his/her field through consultation with business and industry representatives by demonstrated active engagement in culinary networks within Canada or globally in past 2 years.
                Develop and maintain course materials posted on college learning management software (LMS) such as BlackBoard, MS Teams. DesireToLearn, Moodle etc.
                  Actively participate in ongoing events and projects within the division.
                    Contribute to other areas of activity ancillary to the academic programs as needed/requested.

                    What qualifications do you need for this role?
                      The successful candidate requires an Interprovincial Red Seal Baker/Patisserie certification OR
                        Post-secondary Baking and Pastry Arts Education from a recognized institution, preferably French based training.
                          Minimum ten (10) years progressive experience in the Baking and Pastry industry; with specialization in confectionary, chocolatier, and breads with preferably, five (5) years in a supervisory or management level role.
                            Knowledge and familiarity with the latest industry technology and innovative teaching delivery methods required.
                              Must have two (2) to three (3) years teaching experience in adult learning/ training combined with demonstrated effective coaching / leadership skills and significant on-the-job skills training.
                                Previous curriculum development and formal post-secondary teaching experience would be considered assets.
                                  Proven extensive industry network (global) and relationships, industry involvement and credibility.
                                    Demonstrated strength and experience in event and competition organization and management.
                                      Sound knowledge of modern pastry skills and techniques, cost management and theory principles, along with a demonstrated track record in the utilization of both traditional and new approaches to pastry.
                                        Strong technology skills, comfort with social media and teaching both in person and online.
                                          Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
                                            Effective ability to convey conceptual and practical aspects of subjects to students in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience, and learning needs with knowledge of and commitment to accessible learning practices. flexibility in adapting to change and participating in consultative decision-making processes.
